The Finnegan Christmas Tree Farm

Growing Christmas Trees Since 1992

The Finnegan family planted its first field of Christmas trees in 1992. More than 30 years later, that family farm in Clogher, County Tyrone has over 75,000 trees growing, and the varieties grown here are Nordmann Fir, Noble Fir and Fraser Fir.

Quality has been the focus from the start. The farm made its name growing a high-quality tree for the wholesale market, and Nordmann Fir is by far the most popular variety in its fields, just as it is across the UK and Ireland.

Finnegan Christmas Trees and Finnegan Christmas Wreaths are two sides of the same family farm. The fir in our handmade wreaths is cut from the same County Tyrone fields as the trees.

Tree care

How to Keep Your Real Christmas Tree Fresh

A real tree is a living thing. A few simple habits from the farm will keep it fresher, greener and smelling great for longer.

1Use a stand that holds waterChoose a sturdy stand with a good water reservoir. The Easy Stand sold by Finnegan Christmas Trees holds 4 litres.
2Trim the baseWhen you get your tree home, cut about an inch off the bottom of the trunk so it can take up water more easily.
3Keep it wateredA fresh-cut tree can drink up to a gallon of water in the first 24 hours. Check and top up the water every day.
4Keep it away from heatPosition your tree away from radiators, fires and direct sunlight. Heat dries it out, makes needles drop faster and increases the fire risk.
